FT Africa Summit
October 12, 2020
Due to the uncertainty around travel restrictions, this year speakers and delegates will attend virtually using the video conference technology with which we have all become familiar in recent months. We are thrilled with the list of attendees. They include Abiy Ahmed, Prime Minister of Ethiopia and recipient of the 2019 Nobel Peace Prize, who will be our keynote speaker and will be interviewed by Roula Khalaf, the FT’s Editor. We are no less delighted that others, including Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the IMF, and Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organisation, have agreed to participate. Some of Africa’s top businessmen, including Strive Masiyiwa, founder of Econet Global, will also attend. We will even be joined for a musical interlude by Uganda’s megastar-turned-politician Bobi Wine. The audience too will be beamed in from across Africa and around the world and the event will be broadcast from the FT’s award-winning ft.com site. It promises to be quite a day.
