M&A in healthcare – mPharma buys majority stake in HealthPlus (Nigeria)

The Ghana based mPharma as acquired a majority share in HealthPlus Nigeria. HealthPlus is Nigeria’s leading pharmacy chain and one of the fastest growing in West Africa. It uses innovative methods to deliver superior value to stakeholders in the pharmaceutical sector. The acquisition by mPharma will further expand the size of mPharm in the West African region. The stake acquired or the amount paid was not disclosed.

mPharma was a startup founded by Greg Rockson in Ghana and the company is well-known for its ability to improve the efficiency of the pharmaceutical supply chain through its Vendor Management Inventory system already used in over 250 pharmacies in Ghana, Nigeria and Zambia. The funding is intended to develop efficiencies, staff growth and thereby increasing access to healthcare in Africa.
