M&A in services tech sector – SweepSouth acquires 100% of FilKhedma (Egypt)

SweepSouth has acquired 100% of FilKhedma, an Egyptian based online marketplace for home maintenance and improvement services such as plumbing, carpentry, electrical and painting services. The company was established in 2014 and now has over 2,000 service providers that use its platform. The amount invested by SweepSouth was not disclosed.

SweepSouth is an online web platform based in South Africa that provides domestic cleaning services on-demand through a network of cleaning staff. The app provides facilities for payment of cleaning services and connects cleaners with home owners. The company began its operations in 2014 and was founded by Aisha Pandor and her husband Alen Ribic. Naspers Foundry has invested in SweepSouth and is the largest investor in the startup by value.
