Social investor AgDevCo has invested $2.5 million in Suma Hydro Tanzania

AgDevCo has invested $2.5 million in the Suma Hydro project which is a 1MW hydroelectric power plant in Tanzania’s Southern Highlands. Construction is now underway with full commissioning due in early 2019. The hydroelectric plant is located in the Mbeya region of Tanzania, 1000km away from the capital city. The plant is expected to provide sustainable power to Tatepa’s Mwakaleli tea factory in Tukuyu and approximately 700 businesses and households will have access electricity for the first time in the area due to this project.
