The renewable energy sectors of Côte d’Ivoire and Morocco have secured $324m to develop their planned projects in hydro-power and solar power by the African Development Bank (AfDB). The Côte d’Ivoire Singrobo-Ahouaty project involves the design, construction and operation of a 44MW hydropower plant on the Bandama River. In Morocco the funding will assist in developing two solar power plants known as Noorm I and Noorm 2 with a total capacity of 800MW and total cost of $2.3bn.
