African based Jumia will list on the New York Stock Exchange

Jumia, the African e-commerce platform based in Nigeria has filed for an IPO on the New York Stock Exchange. Jumia now operates in 14 African countries and was established in 2012 by Jérémy Hodara and Sacha Poignonnec. Jumia is the first African unicorn as it attained a valuation of $1 billion in 2016 after it raised $326 million from Goldman Sachs, MTN, Rocket Internet and AXA Insurance. Jumia is an African online e-commerce platform that has over 50,000 international and national brands as well as over 15 million site visitors and 4 million subscribers.
