Appetito (Egypt) raises US$2-million from investors led by Jedar Capital

Appetito (Egypt) has raised US$2-million from investors led by Jedar Capital, a US-based venture capital firm and other participating investors which include family offices, Golden Palm Investments and DFS Lab. Appetito was established in 2020 by Shehab Mokhtar and is a grocery delivery platform that sources products from manufacturers which it stores in its warehouses and thereafter ships the products through fulfillment centres. The company has 7 warehouse that house its products in Cairo.

Jedar Capital is an emerging venture capital firm with a startup mindset and focuses on post-revenue that have reached a kind of product-market fit with good traction. The firm targets startups in emerging markets in the Middle East, Africa and some parts of Emerging Asia. Jedar Capital was founded by Sherif Nessim who was previously the commercial director at ArpuPlus, a mobile services company working in the Middle East and Africa.
