Ata Capital has acquired a 33.3% stake in Acrux Sorting Technology (Pty) Ltd (“Acrux”) which was previously a wholly owned subsidiary of commodity resource and technology specialist, Acrux Resources. Acrux is a technology company that services the mining industry through its sensor-based sorting technology used to differentiate particles/materials. The solutions of the company reduce the extractive industry’s environmental footprint and liability, while simultaneously improving yield and reducing costs for resource owners.
Ata Capital is a cross-sectoral alternative asset class fund manager focused on identifying and maximising real investment opportunities that create sustained stakeholder impact, generate effective returns and drive sector transformation. The firm was established in 2012 by Lelo Rantloane who is currently the Executive Director and Chair of the Investment Committee and the Harris Family Office. The fund is majority black-owned and is managed by a group of seasoned investment professionals.
