Enygma Ventures has invested R4.2-million (US$246k) in JobCrystal, a female led tech-enabled recruitment company. The company was established in 2009 and is managed by co-owners Sasha Knott and Kelly Louw. JobCrystal provides recruitment assistance to typically small and medium companies in South Africa to find talent in IT, Sales, Marketing, Admin, HR and Finance. The online portal is able to sift through potential employees for its clients and the funding raised will cover the development costs of new technology to improve efficiency of the recruitment process.
The USA based Enygma Ventures launched a fund in 2019 with US$6.8million (R122million) in women-led entrepreneurial companies operating within the confines of the Southern African region. The fund operates in partnership with the Africa Trust Group which facilitates an incubation programme before an investment is deployed to assist with business expansion. Enygma Ventures was founded by Sarah Dusek and Jacob Dusek in order provide opportunities to women-led entrepreneurial businesses in Southern Africa. Enygma has selected 11 entrepreneurs in 2020 from the 900 applications received in Southern Africa.
