Goodwell Investments launches US$60-million Africa fund to invest in African companies with great potential

Goodwell Investments, a Netherlands based investment fund, has launched a US$60-million Africa fund to invest in small and medium enterprises with great growth prospects. The fund is expected to reach financial close by the end of 2021 after a limited partner capital raise is concluded from family offices, foundations and private equity investors.

Goodwell Investments is an impact investor focused on financial inclusion, fintech and inclusive growth in emerging markets. The firm has funds under management of over US$150-million and its portfolio companies have reached over 28-million households with over US$2.1-billion in financial products. Goodwell Investments has invested in Paga (Nigeria), Nomanini (South Africa), Musoni Systems (Africa), MFS Africa (Africa) and Lydia (Nigeria) among others.
