IDF Capital has invested R10-million (US$147K) in MortgageMarket.co.za which is a fintech company that provides an online platform that simplifies the home loan process for home buyers. The platform allows home buyers to apply once to all the financial institutions and compare home loan approval terms and conditions. The participation of IDF Capital as a shareholder is expected to provide a platform for the expansion of the customer base by working within the ecosystem of IDF Capital’s other portfolio companies. The stake acquired was not disclosed.
IDF Capital is a specialist entrepreneurial private equity firm with over R1.5-billion in assets under management. The firm was established in 2008 and is a member of the Southern Africa Venture Capital and Private Equity Association as well as the Association of Black Securities and Investment Professionals. IDF Capital has invested in companies such as NetCampus, Bloomable, Droppa, SweepSouth, MediWell and Afrobotanics among many others. The limited partners include AECI, Shell, Telkom and Liquid Telecom and others.
