Jamii Africa Tanzania has raised part of the $2 million required for its micro-health insurance start-up

Jamii Africa has received funding from the founder of NewWave Technologies (Patrick Munis). Jamii Africa is a micro-health insurance company that was established in 2016 to serve the underserved population in Tanzania. The company operates on a web platform with functionality to strip out the bulk of costly administrative functions. The micro-health insurance can be as low as $1 per month and has provided health insurance coverage to more than 6,400 people. NewWave (the investor) is a full-service technology company based in the US that provides systems integration for Big Data, Mobile Cloud Computing and Health Informatics.
