Egyptian based Orcas has raised US$2.1-million from investors led by NFX Ventures and Access Bridge Ventures. Orcas provides an edutech platform for the online tutoring of K-12 students starting from kindergarten through to primary and high school. The company was established in 2019 by Hossam Taher and Amira El Gharib with plans to expand into Pakistan. The stake acquired by investors was not disclosed.

The fund invests in healthtech, edutech, fintech, enterprise tech, SaaS, ecommerce enablers and marketplaces. The firm has invested in Dawatach, Flextock, Speero, Cassbana, Immersify Education and Jiye among others.
