Quro Medical has raised equity funding from Life Healthcare to expand its innovative digital healthcare solutions. Quro Medical is an innovative digital health company pioneering premium hospital-at-home services in South Africa. The company was established in 2018 and founded by Vuyane Mhlomi (CEO), Zikho Pali (COO), Rob Cornish (Chief Scientific Officer) with a vision of pushing the boundaries of innovation to deliver premium healthcare solutions that are accessible and affordable for everyone. The equity acquired or the funding raised was not disclosed.
Life Healthcare is a South African hospital group with 49 hospitals found in the Eastern Cape, Free State, Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, Mpumalanga, North West, Western Cape and exposure to the rest of Africa in Botswana. The hospitals comprise of 9,136 registered beds, 41 emergency units, 38 maternity units and 13 cardiac units among others. Life Healthcare is listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange with a market capitalisation of R36-billion. The group also has an international business due to its investment in Alliance Medical which is a provider of complex molecular and diagnostic imaging services across the United Kingdom, Italy and Ireland.
