Sahel Capital, an agricultural private equity company based in Nigeria has invested in Ladgroup Ltd, an agricultural company that processes and exports shea butter. Ladgroup was established in 1972 when it was an exporter of shea nuts, cocoa, ginger and coffee. The company has since become the largest exporter of shea nuts and cocoa as well as a processor of shea nuts into shea butter within the Ogun State of Nigeria. The investment by Sahel Capital will provide capital to further grow the company’s position in the shea industry within the West African region. The amount invested as well as the shareholding by Sahel Capital was undisclosed.
