SweepSouth raises R50 million from local & international investors

SweepSouth has raised R50 million (US$3.3 million) from investors that include Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, Naspers Foundry, Smollan, Vumela and CRE Venture Capital. The equity funding will be used to further expand operations and add to services such as SweepSouth Connect which connects consumers to handymen, plumbers and electricians.

SweepSouth is an online web platform based in South Africa that provides domestic cleaning services on-demand through a network of cleaning staff. The app provides facilities for payment of cleaning services and connects cleaners with home owners. The company began its operations in 2014 and was founded by Aisha Pandor and her husband Alen Ribic. The stake that has been provided to the consortium of investors in this funding round was undisclosed.
