Eos Capital, the most prominent private equity firm in Namibia, has acquired a minority stake in the Namibia subsidiary of Cherry Irrigation, a company that has its main group in South Africa. Cherry irrigation was established in 1987 by Peter Cherry with irrigation design as the focus service and has since expanded it services into Southern Africa. The investment will be used to expand the irrigation capability of the local company in Namibia.
Eos Capital is a Namibian private equity fund manager that is managing the Allegrow Fund and the Namibia Infrastructure Investment and Development Fund. The Allegrow Fund is a Special Purpose Vehicle with Namfisa in terms of the Pension Fund Regulation 29. It has raised N$460-million and has a term of 10 years. The firm is also fundraising for the new agri fund known as the Euphrates Agri Fund. Eos Capital has invested in companies such as Elso Holdings, FabuPharm, Rosewood Academy, Valco Pipes, Erongo Medical Group and Mushara Lodge among many others.
