Sparkle, a digital banking startup has launched its operations in Nigeria after it was granted a banking license by the Central Bank Nigeria. Sparkle will operate as an online bank that is able to provide personal and business banking services. The banking app offers comprehensive support for individuals, including flexible payments, savings and analytics to provide flexibility and is able to provide a breakdown to customers of their spending habits.
The company was established by Uzoma Dozie, a former Diamond Bank CEO who has become the Nigerian equivalent of Michael Jordan in South Africa, a former CEO of First National Bank, who is a now tech entrepreneur with a digital bank (Bank Zero) that is about to be launched. Sparkle will partner with Visa, Microsoft and PwC Nigeria to provide industry-leading expertise in application programming interfaces, cloud computing, data science, machine learning, tax and financial advisory services that will benefit Sparkle’s customers.
