Wee Media raises US$400,000 from Japanese, Hong Kong and USA investors

Wee Media, an African media company has raised US$400,000 in a funding round from Samurai Incubate Africa (based in Japan), Grenfell Holdings (based in Hong Kong), Knarrs Ventures and Jim Waltrip (based in the USA). Wee Media runs the WeeTracker platform which is a pan-African research and media company based in Kenya and Nigeria. The platform operates on a key editorial principle based on data, facts and very strong reliable sources. Wee Media also has AfriCo (business intelligence platform) and Gadgets Africa (consumer electronic media) in its portfolio.

Samurai Incubate Africa supports the growth of companies aiming to solve social problems and disrupt existing inefficient systems in Africa through a collaboration with Japanese companies. The company, based in Tokyo, Japan targets sectors in energy, healthcare, financial services, agriculture, retail, logistics, transportation and entertainment. The investment in Wee Media by the consortium of investors will assist in expanding its reach in providing African information and intelligence.
