AlphaCode acquires 25% of South African health-tech company

AlphaCode has acquired a 25% stake in Guidepost, a health-tech platform that manages patient diabetes based on personalized data. The platform assists in providing a healthy lifestyle for diabetics by providing medication reminders, diet and medical remedy recommendations. The platform was founded in 2012 by Richard Johnson, Graham Rowe and David Segal. Guidepost will use the funding to expand the staff complement and expand the customer base through medical insurance companies that are able to reduce the costs incurred in medical claims.

AlphaCode is company that invests in disruptive ideas that have the potential to transform the financial services sector. The company was launched by Rand Merchant Investments in 2015 and typically identifies, partners and grows next generation financial services entrepreneurs through incubation, acceleration, collaboration and investment. The acquisition amount of Guidepost was undisclosed.
