Bamboo Capital Partners exits its stake in a micro-finance bank

Bamboo Capital Partners has exited its indirect stake in one of the leading microfinance banks in Nigeria, Accion Microfinance Bank (“Accion”). Accion provides micro-entrepreneurs and low-income individuals with financial services in a sustainable, ethical and profitable manner. Since Bamboo’s investment, Accion has grown its portfolio of active borrowers 3.5 times from 14,000 to 50,000 active loans in 2019, with women representing 58% of the loan book. Accion began operations in May 2007 after receiving its license from the Central Bank of Nigeria

Bamboo Capital Partners is a commercial private equity firm making investments in energy, healthcare and financial services globally. Bamboo has close to $400m in assets under management with a portfolio of companies in over 30 countries. The firm was established in 2007 and has offices in Luxembourg, Geneva, Bogota, Nairobi and Singapore.
