Courier firm Sendy, which is an on-demand logistics company that operates on mobile phones has received $2 million in equity funding from the Dutch impact fund (DOB Equity) and a subsidiary of Toyota Corporation (CFAO Group). The funding will be used to finance growth in Kenya where the company has 50,000 customers and 4,000 businesses in Thika, Mombasa, Kisumu and Nairobi. Investment in technology efficient companies in Kenya has been rising consistently and includes the smaller players in the market.
