Experian buys Compuscan for R3.7 billion

Experian has decided to buy Compuscan for R3.7 billion to expand its reach in the credit bureau and analytics industry in South Africa. Compuscan is a trusted credit bureau and information services provider that was founded in 1994. Through Compuscan’s extensive product offering, it enables companies to identify, acquire, manage and reward customers and educate their workforce. Experian, a UK company that provides comprehensive credit history information and analytical expertise also has a presence in the South African corporate sector but Compuscan has more localized consumer coverage in South Africa.
