GL Events has acquired a 60% stake in Johannesburg Expo Centre therefore becoming the majority shareholder in the largest exhibition centre in Africa which hosts South Africa’s biggest trade shows such as the Rand Show, Electra Mining, The Johannesburg Motor Show, Bauma and Propak Africa. The Montgomery Group which has sold a significant share in the Johannesburg Expo Centre will remain a part owner of the company. The Montgomery Group is an organizer of events in 15 countries throughout Europe, Asia, Middle-East and Africa with operating companies such as Afrocet Montgomery, Angus Montgomery, Angus Montgomery Arts, Art Fairs London, Asian Art Fairs, Dogan Trading, ECL Exhibition Consultants and Montgomery TFConnect Partnerships among others. The amount paid for the transaction is undisclosed.
