Individual investor buys equity in Bwala Africa Group

Silicon Valley Venture Capital investor, Justin Caldbeck has invested in Bwala Africa Group, which is a last mile logistics company based in Kenya. The company was established in 2018 by Kennedy Nyabwala to improve the reliability of goods delivery in a highly fragmented freight sector. Bwala Africa Group has also expanded its operations to Uganda where it has already completed over 100 deliveries since entering that market and secured over US$200,000 in debt facilities from Stanbic (a subsidiary of Standard Bank Group) in September 2018, and applied towards multiplying the fleet through the purchase of 8 new trucks. Justin Caldbeck invested in his personal capacity as he has done before with Uber, SpaceX and Opendoor among others in the USA and this was his first investment in an African based company.
