Powered by People (Kenya) has raised US$1.5-million in a funding round led by TBD Angels and DraftKings among others such as Good+Well impact investors. Powered by People is a mobile-first system that offers online tools, financing solutions and a business-to-business marketplace to small and mid-sized enterprises in the creative manufacturing and handmade sector. The company connects handmade and natural cosmetic producers across Africa, Asia and Latin America via a wholesale platform.

TBD Angels is a group of angel investors who are current operators at leading startups and executives at major companies with deep and varied experience in the startup landscape. TBD Angels has invested in LuminDX, Powerspike, Qatch, CLIPR and Lasse among many others. The stake acquired by the various angel investors in Powered by People was not disclosed.
